Britney Spears checks into mental health facility

Britney Spears has checked into a mental health facility, according to TMZ.
The reveal was made on Wednesday, though their sources claim the pop star admitted herself about a week ago. It’s said she will stay for 30 days.

While this news may come as a shock to fans, the report claims Brit has been “distraught” over her father’s health issues. As we’ve previously reported, Jamie Spears suffered a ruptured colon, leading his daughter to take an indefinite hiatus from her second Las Vegas residency.
The songstress made the announcement back in January, telling her followers in an Instagram post, writing:

“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.”

The 37-year-old has continued to put her Sin City shows on hold as her father recovers.

Sadly, it sounds like his status isn’t much better as he recently had another surgery and is suffering complications. In fact, the insiders are claiming it’s serious as poppa Spears isn’t getting much better.
And on Wednesday, the starlet seemingly hinted at her own mental health struggles, taking to IG with a post that reads:

“Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”

The caption she shared was also telling:

“We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time.'”

We can only imagine what Britney is going through…
After all, it was just earlier last month that her father became her sole conservator after one of the longtime artist’s lawyers decided to step down from the legal matter.
That alone was shocking as the momma of two has been under conservatorship for over 10 years, stemming from when she refused to relinquish custody of her sons — Sean Preston and Jayden — to ex Kevin Federline‘s representatives in January 2008. Police arrived at her house and said she appeared to be under the influence of an unidentified substance. After she was hospitalized, she was committed to the psychiatric ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold.
We’ll continue to keep you updated as we wish Spears the best.
