What a touching tribute.
On Sunday night, Coldplay welcomed a very special guest to the stage during their Pasadena concert at the Rose Bowl. Chris Martin announced to the excited audience that James Corden would be joining the band to remember Prince.
The frontman revealed the Late Late Show host would be performing Nothing Compares 2 U alongside the musicians, saying:
"I'm very pleased to tell you that in honor of Prince tonight, because we want to honor Prince, we managed to convince our missing and best member to come back into the band."
The Trolls star joked about agreeing to sing, quipping:
"I'll be honest, I didn't know how big it was when I said yes."
But, on a serious note, the comedian was incredibly grateful to the band for getting the opportunity to honor the late legend together:
"I'm a little nervous, but thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience, as I am just a fan, for this incredible night that you have given us all."
The red-haired funny man and Gwyneth Paltrow's ex took turns singing the beautiful Prince-penned ballad Nothing Compares 2 U, letting their impressive pipes shine through in an amazing tribute.
And to make the moment even more special for Mr. Corden, the guys got the audience to participate in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday after they finished song, since the actor turned 38 on Monday!
