box office identity

Melissa McCarthy CANNOT be taken down!

Well okay, Bruce Willis and A Good Day To Die Hard knocked her latest comedy, Identity Thief, out of the number one spot during its second weekend playing in theaters, but it's BACK on top for round three, you guys!

Even if the most money the biggest-selling movie made from Friday - Sunday was $14.1 million!

YEESH! We think that's worst the box office has been hit so far in 2013!

And that's even BEFORE mentioning that The Rock's movie Snitch came in SECOND with a gross of $13 million…well before Keri Russell's new release Dark Skies, which came in SIXTH with $8.9 million!

But hey! It's OSCARS weeked!

Who wants to be out and about watching movies in the theaters when all of our favorite actors will be DRESSED TO KILL, together in one room…all of which is available for viewing from the comfort of one's own home!

Better luck next time!

He just keeps digging himself deeper!

Rex Reed went on a New York radio show this week to defend himself against the backlash he created by poking fun at Melissa McCarthy's weight in the review of her new film with Jason Bateman, Identity Theft!

Everyone from Jenny McCarthy to fitness guru Jillian Michaels had homegurl's back since the film critic's nasty, personal tirade! We're THRILLED so many people rush to her defense!

Rex, for his part, wants the world to know he doesn't think obesity is a laughing matter.

Jillian Michaels Stands Up For Melissa McCarthy's Weight!

| Filed under: Melissa McCarthyFitnessHealthJillian Michaels

After film critic, Rex Reed called Melissa McCarthy a "hippo," Jillian Michaels took a stand against Reed and noted that what he said was just plain out "evil!"

In the clip (above), the Biggest Loser star goes OFF on the critic and argues that he is "prejudice [and] wrong in every possible way."

But after Miz Michaels is done defending the actress, Rex tries to smooth things over by simply saying that he was NOT attacking Melissa. Instead, he was just talking about her character that she played in her latest film, Identity Thief.

Dayum, hopefully homeboy is being real because if he's not, then he really is an evil person that deserves to be yelled at by Jillian.

And everyone knows how scary that is! LOLz

Jenny McCarthy SLAMS Bully Movie Critic Over Nasty Melissa McCarthy Review!

Bridesmaids director Paul Fieg may want the nasty movie critic, whose scathing review of Melissa McCarthy in Identity Thief was mostly based off weight, to go F*CK himself…

But he's not the only one!

Melissa's equally funny cousin Jenny McCarthy recently spoke out about Rex Reed's now notorious review, expressing:

Identity Thief Steals The Weekend Box Office From Warm Bodies And Side Effects!

Glad to see that one nasty, completely out-of-line review didn't detract audiences from the GLORY that is Melissa McCarthy!

Hell, even the Snowpocalypse couldn't keep movie-goers away from her!

In fact, despite all of the odds, the actress' new comedy with Jason Bateman, Identity Thief, topped the weekend box by pulling in an estimated $36.6 million…the FIFTH biggest opening ever for a non-sequel R-rated comedy!

Sadly, however, it seems that Blizzard Storm Nemo DID take a bit of a toll on the flick's business, as Universal Studios projected that had it not been for all the snow, it could have surpassed the $40 million mark!

Hey! Whatever!

It still beat out last weekend's #1 film, Warm Bodies AND Channing Tatum's latest collaboration with Steven Soderbergh, Side Effects, which respectively pulled in $11.5 million AND $10 million!

Melissa McCarthy Slammed As “Tractor-Sized” By Disgustingly Insulting Movie Critic!

melissa mccarthy obese slams movie critic

We are so NOT cool with this!

Melissa McCarthy is a queen - a HIGHlarious, talented, delightful, charming, adorbz QUEEN!

But some movie critic decided to go far beyond being offensive when he reviewed her new flick, Identity Thief.

Rex Reed of the New York Observer woke up on the freaking stupid wrong side of the bed when he described the actress in the article as:

“[C]acophonous, tractor-sized Melissa McCarthy.”

And no, it doesn’t end there as he continued with the petty insults by further describing her as:
