Very generous! C'mon, Hollywood! More of you need to do this!
David Spade is hero to those in the midwestern and southeastern parts of the United States who late last month were left devastated by the over 178 tornados that ripped through that part of the country. The actor has pledged a donation of $200,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief and with that, released this statement, saying:
"With the devastating disasters the tornadoes and floods are causing I wanted to help the Red Cross in their efforts to provide help as quickly as possible. I also hope this will help to shine the spotlight on the people of the United States who are in desperate need right now and that others will join me in donating what they can to support the American Red Cross’ huge disaster relief effort."
Bravo, David. A donation like this is going to do a lot of good for the poor people whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy. We truly hope more people follow in your footsteps and offer as much assistance as they can.
David Spade stepped out in style yesterday on the set of his new film Jack and Jill. Obviously, he's joining Adam Sandler in a bit of cross-dressing for the film, but we'll give credit where credit is due - he works it better than Adam did!
The dress, the shoes, the hair - you opted for a Snooki pouf! Faboosh!
Even with no idea what this movie is about, we're sold on seeing it just from this outfit! Lolz!
This is the weirdest pairing that we've seen in a while!
David Spade was spotted leaving Koi in West Hollywood last night with Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi! The two are clearly attempting to keep whatever the eff is going down on the DL by walking a healthy distance apart, but we know better!
Why so shy, you two?!
Are you embarrassed to be dating a has-been, Padma?!
TBS executive VP of programming Michael Wright explains:
“David Spade is a hugely popular comic talent who has created a funny, yet lovable, character in Joe Dirt. We look forward to seeing how he and his fellow writers and producers take this character in new directions as TBS continues exploring the world of primetime animation."
This just scream failure to us!
Joe Dirt is the third animated program in development at TBS along with Neighbors from Hell and Good and Evel.
Seriously, did anyone even go see the movie when it was in theaters?!
It's a gimmick that Direct TV has done with such movies & stars as Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future and Naomi Watts in King Kong - actors advertising Direct TV services while reenacting scenes from beloved movies.
Recently, the newest commercial premiered, with David Spade reprising his role in Tommy Boy in the scene where now deceased close friend and costar Chris Farley performs his famous "Fat Guy in a Little Coat" bit.
Some critics are calling the spot insensitive and tasteless and accusing David of selling out the dead comedian's memory.
David quickly responded to the allegations, releasing this statement through his publicist:
"When DIRECT TV came to me and the Farley family with this idea about 'Tommy Boy,' we talked and thought it would be a cool way to remind people just how funny Chris was. It is a clever homage to my friend and a movie that we loved doing."
Shortly after, a Direct TV spokesperson was quoted as saying:
"We should look to Chris' family and friends for the ultimate opinion on this subject. They were involved from the beginning of this project and felt that the spot was a great to tribute to Chris."
