Jennifer Hudson is one strong woman.
While she often chooses to stay mum on her family's violent murders (Hud's mother, brother, and nephew were all ruthlessly killed by her sister's ex-husband), the singer recently spoke out on the tragic event.
Now that the mom of one is starring in a Broadway production of The Color Purple, she's finding it easier to express feelings on her late family. In the Color Purple, Hudson's character loses her daughter to a senseless act of violence which obviously is something she can relate to.
The actress elaborated:
"There's a scene where we're all holding up boards with photos of our slain children on them. I turned around, and it's a sea of real women as extras holding pictures of children they actually lost. I'm a character holding a picture of a little girl, but in real life I have the same story."
So tragic. At least the production seems to be cathartic.
Not only has work helped the Chicago native, but so has motherhood and marriage. Jen revealed:

It's a stunning look regardless, and J.Hud definitely saw no issue with flashing a little cleavage on this red carpet!!

Though the 33-year-old has been rocking a pixie cut for a while now, this current style looks at least several inches shorter than her previous one.
J.Hud performed twice in one day for the event, looking glam in a low-cut white gown for the first performance before changing into a short black lace dress and fishnet stocking for the second go-round!
But will they be right??

That's because Kerry's next high profile project is the HBO movie Confirmation, about the 1991 court case of Anita Hill accusing her boss, Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, of sexual harassment.
The premium cable network revealed the first look of Kerry in her historical drama on Tuesday, and Kerry even thanked the company for making the movie, saying:

The music video premiere will help to support Logo's #All50 campaign — which aims to keep LGBT people and allies up to date on the latest information leading up to the U.S. Supreme Court's upcoming decision on marriage equality in all 50 states!
Throughout June, Logo will debut interviews with celebrities and LGBT advocates on #All50's website, and even invite people to share personal stories!
