Being named Vanity Fair magazine's best-dressed woman of the year is all fun and games until you realize that now you're expected to look flawless every time.
Luckily, that's not a problem for Kerry Washington, who attended ABC's TCA Summer Party in Beverly Hills on Sunday, looking perfectly put-together in a Giambattista Valli number featuring a paisley print halter top.
The Scandal star and newlywed spruced up the look with a high bun and glossy red lipstick, and even though her taupe Louboutins blended into the carpet, she still looked fabulous.
In her defense, she probably had no idea the carpet would be so fug.

Kerry Washington is moving up in the world!
The Scandal actress scored an Elle cover last month, and now she graces the front of Vanity Fair's August issue! She must be feeling AWESOME right now!
Kerry is submerged to her shoulders in a fancy-looking pool on the cover, rocking a white Lanvin bodysuit and bright red lipstick. The angle of the shot kinda makes it look like she doesn't have a neck, but who cares, she's on the cover of Vanity Fair!
For the inside shots, the 36-year-old is back on land, kicking back in Donna Karan on a nondescript beach and laying sprawled on a staircase in her Giorgio Armani finery.
Last year, she was relegated to sharing a spread with a bunch of other TV actresses in the mag, but look at her now, baby!

That Gatsby fever just won't break!
Kerry Washington may not have had a role in The Great Gatsby, but she was very much in tune with the spirit of the Roaring 20s at the Esquire & Jimmy Choo party in London on Sunday.
The actress did her best flapper impression in a contrast Marc Jacobs dress that hung loosely against her frame with her hair styled in a bouncy faux bob.
Hope she didn't get too zozzled at the shindig!

Kerry Washington's white lace Giambattista Valli dress has all the hallmarks of a look that is pretty and ladylike.
It was also the appropriate outfit for the Celebrate Sundance Institute Benefit in El Lay on Wednesday night where she presented the Vanguard Award to director Ryan Coogler.
The actress went all the way with the icy white hue, accessorizing with matching Louboutin pumps and a Nancy Gonzalez clutch.
And that side ponytail takes years off her already ageless face!

We simply can't get enough of Kerry Washington in yellow! It's SO her color!
The Scandal star picked a vivacious Jason Wu gown for the CFDA Awards in Manhattan on Monday, looking bright and cheery on the black carpet.
Is it too cliche to call her a ray of light? Ha!
The conservative, square neck front of the dress gave way to a seksi open back with criss-crossing straps and a dainty ruffled accent.
A low bun and a wooden Lanvin minaudiere provided the final touches.
This is as perfect as it gets!

If Carey Mulligan had worn this dress, we would've keeled over from a massive boredom attack.
But Kerry Washington has given us enough excitement in the past that we can maintain consciousness when she dons something simple.
The actress attended a panel for Scandal at the Variety Emmy Studio in West Hollywood on Thursday, looking subtly elegant in a black Calvin Klein shift.
Her Roger Vivier shoulder bag almost blended into the background, but spunky Louboutin pumps knocked some energy into the ensem.
The heels save the look!

What a doll!
Kerry Washington has taken a lot of fashion risks lately, but we love that she's still willing to rock a dress an everyday woman could pull off.
Although, who could possibly look as good as Kerry in it?!
The fashionista stepped out in a cream-colored Giambattista Valli dress for the Scandal season 2 finale party looking absolutely precious!
We adore the simplicity, although it wouldn't have hurt her to get those wrinkles out!
No one had a steamer??
If you can get past that goof, this is an almost flawless overall look from head to toe!
