Dr. Luke (born Lukasz Gottwald) hasn't been fully ousted from Sony after all.
As we previously reported, the music company supposedly dropped the producer as CEO of Kemosabe Records — a record label Gottwald established with Sony back in 2011.
While many believed this demotion meant the industry vet would no longer have a working relationship with the media conglomerate, his rep has since defended that the 43-year-old is still professionally connected to Sony.
Dr. Luke's spokesperson told The Los Angeles Times:
"This is wrong, they are not cutting ties."
We guess we'll just have to wait and see if Sony tries to clarify this incredibly confusing situation.

Well, this is certainly interesting.
The producer is also no longer the CEO of Kemosabe Records, which he established with Sony in 2011. Furthermore, Sony has stated that Luke "no longer has authority to act on its behalf."
Even though this might seem like good news for Kesha, we're not sure that it actually nullifies her contract with the producer. It sounds like Dr. Luke is still the only one who can break that contract with her.
Moreover, in her court papers, the Tik Tok singer previously told the judge that Sony and Dr. Luke's relationship was about to come to an end, and that things would be worse for her once she no longer had the music giant behind her to act as a "go-between."
Complicating matters further is the fact that the music producer still has a pending defamation lawsuit against her, and his lawyers are in the process of gathering evidence that proves his career has suffered greatly due to Kesha's rape allegations. Being dropped by Sony might be another thing they can use against her.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

The Timber singer is trying to get out of her contract legally after claiming her former producer raped her. But so far all she's gotten is sued by Gottwald for trying to ruin his name with the allegations.
Kesha previously tried to get out of her contract by describing her alleged rape as a hate crime on the part of Dr. Luke — but that was rebuffed.
This time, she attempted to amend her countersuit against the producer, trying two new tactics to argue her case.
In the first, she argued recording artists should have a legal backdoor available to them, like divorce for married couples. Her argument went:
While we knew RuPaul's Drag Race was going to have a special A-list cameo thanks to Lady GaGa, we didn't realize the drag competition was going to lock in so many other superstars for their 9th season!
Clearly, RDR is trying to get as much publicity as possible as it makes its move from Logo to VH1 later this month. As for the permanent judges?? The 13 contestants will be sashaying for Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, and (of course) RuPaul.

Kesha seems to be in a very good place right now!
At a cyberbullying panel hosted by Refinery29 at South by Southwest on Tuesday, she spoke out about negative online spaces, eating disorders, and her eventful 30th birthday.
By all accounts she seems to have really hit her stride, and one of the ways in which she's done that is by avoiding social media.
Kesha is speaking out in the hopes of helping others!
The singer has issued a PSA in honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, encouraging people to get screened to find out if they are possibly suffering from an eating disorder.
The 30-year-old also recalled her own experiences dealing with an eating disorder, saying:
"I had an eating disorder that threatened my life, and I was very afraid to confront it. I got sicker, and the whole world kept telling me how much better I looked. That's why I realized I wanted to be part of the solution."
"Eating disorders are a life threatening illness that can affect anyone. It doesn't matter your age, your sex, your ethnicity. Eating disorders don't discriminate."
Kesha has admitted in the past that Dr. Luke was a factor in causing her to develop an eating disorder. She confessed he had called her fat and compared her to a refrigerator.
The artist sought help for her illness by attending rehab in 2014.
