After early sales numbers showed Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey neck-and-neck for the #2 spot on the Billboard album charts this week, Barbra actually pulled off the unexpected.

She came in at #1 spot, beating not only Mariah but Paramore as well!

Congrats, Babs!

You're still #1 after all these years!

The first time around, Mariah Carey's new album, Memiors of an Imperfect Angel, didn't soar. Let's see if round two has different results!

The new new album will include remixes to every song on Memoirs. Producer Tricky Stewart says it will be "easy" and "fun" to do, but he has big plans for Mariah's cover of Foreigner.

He says: "I'm gonna do a remix to Want to Know What Love Is myself. I'mma raise the tempo up. I'mma try to make it into something else."

Let's hope that helps. No word on when this remix album will be released, but in the meantime, the third single off the original album has been decided and will be H.A.T.E.U.

Who DOESN'T love Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You?

Mariah says of her 1994 hit and her Christmas album:

"When I realize how that song has become a part of Christmas tradition, it’s crazy to me, thrilling, humbling. You know, I didn’t want to do a Christmas album. It was Tommy [Mottola]’s idea. And I was all, ‘Please I’m a young girl. People don’t do Christmas albums until they are, like, 50. Some sort of last resort.’ But he insisted. ‘No, no. Do it. It’ll be a big hit. So I did and it was, and I’ll always be grateful for that."

And the singer reveals she plans to do a new Christmas recording with her mother, Patricia Carey, a vocal coach and former opera singer!

But is this some sort of "last resort" for Mimoo after lackluster sales of her latest album?

Either way, we hope it's a hit! We loves some good Christmas music!

This weekend Mariah Carey was in New York to promote her latest flick, Precious.

And Mimi is starting to look a bit thicker than usual.

Carey is currently dodging pregnancy rumors.

Forget the belly, look at those thighs!

That's probably hard to do when Mariah's boobs are practically double in size and in your face.

Maybe pregnancy boobs?

And noticeably absent from the red carpet was sometimes funny-woman with the always hairy legs, Mo'Nique, who's still trying to get paid for appearances it seems.

Good luck with that 'bb.

Either way, all eyes were definitely on Mariah this weekend.

The critics are raving about the much-anticipated new film Precious, starring Mariah Carey and produced by Oprah Winfrey. Some of the buzz surrounding the flick is that breakout star Mo'Nique may garner herself an Oscar nod for her role.

But she won't get squat if she doesn't smarten up and lose her tude! According to sources, Mo'Nique has made some ridiculous demands for appearing in promotional events for the flick, including wanting her stylist flown in first class and a $100,000 appearance fee for the actress to show up at the festival premieres! (Ironically, Mariah didn't receive or ask for a cent!)

Her greedy attitude may lose her the chance to win an Oscar, as Oprah and fellow executive producer Tyler Perry instructed the studio, Lionsgate, to promote her costars Mariah and Gabby Sidibe more to get them into the Oscar race. However, it may be a moot point as Mo'Nique seemingly has no interest in a golden statue, just the bling she could purchase herself with a large paycheck.

A sources says: "Mo'Nique said she signed on to do this film for a small amount of money. She said she didn't care about 'no Oscar' - all that mattered was 'those Benjamins!' Because Oprah and Tyler Perry are backing the film, she feels as though there should be a budget to pay for her promotional duties."

With even more evidence to support the theory, Mo'Nique herself responded to the allegations, saying: "When people say, 'You care more about money than winning an Oscar,' well, what does an Oscar mean? An Oscar means more work when you win it, and that means more money! I couldn't eat that Oscar. Everybody needs money, baby. That's how we survive, right?"

Charming. We sure they'll give you one now! Not too smart to piss of both Oprah and Tyler perry. You're just asking never to work again!

Nick Cannon and wifey Mariah Carey spend a lot of time apart while working in separate cities, but they still manage to get their needs met!

And we're sorry to have to get into it!

"There’s lots of phone sex! And when I get home, we have a big party!” Nick verbally splooged splurged.

Mimi is probably thrilled with that little tid bit!!

Although their schedules are at times conflicting, the pair want to start having children soon!

"We definitely want a family. It’s at the forefront of our minds," he continued.

Does he know that she can't get preggers through the phone?! Not to mention it's customary that you raise the thing!

If you're having trouble getting together to do the deed in the first place, maybe having kiddies is not your best bet!

Mariah Carey was in the Big Apple, performing on the Today Show's Summer Concert Series. She brought along her charity case hubby, Nick Canon, who should still be praising the Lord everyday that Mariah Carey chose him for a husband.

But with a possible little one on the way, she might have to share the spotlight in his life.
