An inspiring story that could have ended in tragedy.

Ryan O'Callaghan devoted most of his life to playing football, but his dedication to the sport was really just a ploy to hide from his true identity.

The former NFL star, who played for the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, just came out as gay in a moving interview with OutSports — and admitted he planned on committing suicide when his career was over.

The athlete felt he could never live as an openly gay man growing up in the conservative town of Redding, California, and realized in high school he didn't fit any of the traditional gay stereotypes.

Shortly after coming out to himself in junior high school, O'Callaghan decided that he would hide behind the pinnacle of masculinity: football.

And so he kept his secret hidden under his jersey for over a dozen years, throughout his journey playing college ball at the University of California to the NFL. He explained:

O.J. Simpson Could Be Getting Out Of Jail In October!

Is the world ready for O.J. Simpson's return?

On Tuesday, the Nevada parole board announced the controversial athlete will have a hearing on July 20 of this year!

The American Crime Story subject's interview will be conducted via closed-circuit video at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada at 10 a.m. Four board members will evaluate Simpson 130 miles away in Carson, Nevada.

If parole is granted that day, the former NFL star could be roaming the streets again as early as October!

The 69-year-old is currently serving a 33-year sentence for committing an armed robbery back in 2007. He has spent nine years in prison, where he works as a gym custodian.

While Simpson was granted parole on some of his charges in 2013, he was required to be held for four more years.

Back in May, the Carolina Panthers quarterback released his birthday video on Instagram where he is seen living it up in luxury as he lip syncs 2 Chainz's Birthday Song. The clip was actually shot last year during a vacay to Central America.

Pretty cool, huh? WRONG! While Cam looks like he's having a great time, he totally forgot to invite his teammates!

On Tuesday, Dancing With The Stars season 24 aired its season finale, and the hit ABC show finally revealed who won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy!

Just ahead of Tuesday night's finale, Rashad Jennings, Normani Kordei, and David Ross took the Dancing With The Stars stage once again to compete for the highly-coveted Mirror Ball.

So what'd you miss?

The Fifth Harmony singer had a solid night despite twisting her ankle during rehearsal. She and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy pulled out a quickstep and a perfect-scoring freestyle routine that left the judges and the audience in awe.
