Things might have been different if he'd said this upfront!
Adrian Peterson was suspended for the rest of the NFL season for disciplining his son so harshly that he drew blood.
Well, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that since the Minnesota Vikings running back didn't show remorse, he's done playing for the year.
NOW, Adrian has decided to tell the world how sorry he is, explaining how the incident happened, and what followed. He said:
Did you hear about how a New Orleans Saints fan stole a football meant for a Cincinnati Bengals fan at Sunday's NFL game?
Well if you haven't, it's a pretty ridiculous story, and we've got an even stranger update for you!
So that's probably why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson.
Peterson has been dealing with the legal issues stemming from his overzealous disciplining of his son that lead to a reckless assault charge.
He will have to pay a $4,000 fine and do 80 hours of community service. But that's just the legal side of things.
Some totally unsportsmanlike conduct went down at the Cincinnati Bengals vs New Orleans Saints football on Sunday.
Craziest part? It wasn't on the field!!
After scoring a touchdown, Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham jogged up to the end zone wall and flipped a football right at Christa Barrett, a woman in a Bengals jersey.
That's when jerk-face #1 Tony Williams, a Saints fan, swooped in and snatched the ball away, claiming it for himself! BOOOOO!
Have you heard about Devon Still and his incredible daughter Leah??
Leah has been battling Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a cancer that usually affects young children.
Their saga started when the Cincinnati Bengals cut Devon Still from their team. He just couldn't give 110% with his daughter being so sick.
So the team did something incredible, they gave a sh*t and signed him to the practice squad so he could still collect a paycheck and afford his daughter's treatments!
Devon finally got the chance to hit the field and play a real game… in front of his daughter!!
Just days after Adrian Peterson avoided jail time in his child abuse case, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has to immediately switch his attention over to another ugly scandal.
The commish made his way to a New York courtroom yesterday where he testified and was cross examined in Ray Rice's hearing to appeal his indefinite suspension from the league.
The hearing stems from the footballer's suspension that took place nearly two months ago after footage showed him punching his now wife Janay Rice in an elevator, knocking her unconscious.
