You betta werk, girl!

Caitlyn Jenner may be getting most of the media's attention after revealing her true self with her Vanity Fair cover last week, but she's not the only transgender role model who's been honored recently.

That's because Brooklynn Buenaventura from Washington was just selected by her peers to be prom queen on Saturday!

Prior to her transition, Brooklynn, then Bruce, was actually voted into the prom court, but she attended that dance in a tux — We bet getting to party it up in clothes that actually felt right on her was an even better prize than the crown!

This Lunch Lady Was Fired For Giving Free Meals To Hungry Students!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSad SadFoodSchoolViral: News

The kitchen manager at a Colorado elementary school got fired for feeding hungry kids for free.

What the heck??

Della Curry was the kitchen manager at Dakota Valley Elementary School, up until she got fired on Friday.

The Aurora, Colorado lunch lady says she was let go because she was giving free meals to students who couldn't afford to pay for their food.

But she has no regrets about being a compassionate soul, saying:

"I had a first-grader in front of me, crying, because she doesn't have enough money for lunch. Yes, I gave her lunch."

Naturally, education officials got a ton of crap when this started making headlines.

But now, the school district released a statement claiming the 35-year-old's termination had absolutely nothing to do with the lunches she was giving out:

"Miss Curry was not dismissed for giving free food to financially disadvantaged students. Numerous documented incidents resulted in the action taken. We are unable to fully disclose all of the details concerning her dismissal without her permission."

Hmmmmmmm. Well this just got slightly more vague and confusing.

A spokesperson for the school district expressed his frustration with the alleged he-said-she-said debacle, saying:

Vince Vaughn Weighs In On Gun Control With THIS Controversial Comparison!

Vince Vaughn has never been one to hold his tongue, and his recent statements are bound to ruffle a few feathers.

In the July issue of British GQ, the 45-year-old dishes with the magazine about the second season of True Detective, but the conversation quickly turns political.

From saying Edward Snowden is a hero to calling America's crusade against drugs 'ridiculous', the actor doesn't hold back with his opinions.

However, his views on gun control will certainly shock many readers.

On whether individuals should have the right to bare arms, the Couples Retreat star said:

"I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home. We don't have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It's not about duck hunting; it's about the ability of the individual."

He later goes on to theorize that the mass shootings that have happened in recent years — notably 2012's Sandy Hook massacre that left 20 children and six staffers dead — are due to the country's ban on weapons.

"Take mass shootings. They've only happened in places that don't allow guns. These people are sick in the head and are going to kill innocent people. They are looking to slaughter defenceless human beings. They do not want confrontation. In all of our schools it is illegal to have guns on campus, so again and again these guys go and shoot up these f***ing schools because they know there are no guns there. They are monsters killing six-year-olds."

So does this mean that the Minnesota native believes guns should be allowed in schools?

It turns out… yes.

"Of course… Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, taking away drugs, the booze, it won't rid the world of criminality."

Do you agree with Vince's controversial statements regarding gun control?!
