When Bad People Do Good Things

wenn1643667.jpg

Simon Cowell may not be known as a great philanthropist, but it seems like the witty and sarcastic American Idol judge does have a soft spot underneath that hard exterior.

Cowell was a guest Monday on Oprah, and during the show they mentioned a good deed that the mean spirited judge did.

Oprah's Big Give show is all about helping those in need and that's just what Cowell decided to do.

A couple, Randy and Amy Stoen, were struggling daily in order to travel more than 100 miles from their home each day so their daughter could receive treatment. The young girl, Madeline, is struggling with a life-threatening cancer.

Cowell decided to alleviate some of the stress and burden the family is dealing with and paid off their mortgage!!!

He said "I never knew that doing good could feel so good."

Cowell paid over $162,000 to cover the family's debt.

And, hey, it's a tax write-off for him! Right? And he got to announce it on Oprah!

Hallelujah!

Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah is #2 on iTunes.

WTF???? What? Why????

Well, it turns out that American Idol contestant Jason Castro performed the song this week and Simon mentioned that the Jeff Buckley version is one of his faves.

The power of Cowell!

We love the Buckley version, but we also love LOVE love the K.D. Lang interpretation!

Simon Not Hard Up (For Cash)

wenn5073959.jpg

Simon Cowell has just turned down a six figure deal. That's lunch money for him.

The American Idol judge was offered over $1.5 million to be the new face for the boner pill Viagra.

Cowell is only 48.

Simon explains,"My agent rang me and said, 'You've been offered an incredibly big deal - it's to be the face of Viagra'. And I just said, 'Sorry, but that has to be a fucking insult.'"

Cowell is said to be worth upwards of $100 million!!!!

He's got millions in the bank and several shows on air worldwide bringing him in money. He's also been quoted as saying he would never marry his girlfriend Terri Seymour, who's 15 years younger, without her agreeing to a pre-nuptial agreement.

He knows how to keep his money safe!

We're guessing in 10 years, Cowell might sign up to be the Viagra spokesman.

In the mean time, they should ask Tom Cruise!

Quote of the Day

tf06-american_idol21__opt.jpg

"They think I'm the Anti-Christ. They don't like us TV people to be part of it – it's ridiculous. It reeks of snobbery. I have nothing to do with the Oscars – nor do I want to… I'll only go if someone has invited me. I hate the whole movie industry. It's so stuck up, I can't bear it."

A Softie Underneath The Harsh Exterior

mx0077513__opt.jpg

Simon Cowell isn't as mean as we all think. Or maybe he's just fucking with the media for some good publicity!

The American Idol judge has revealed that he's donating $180 million to charity when he dies.

Cowell wants to leave the bulk of his money to children's and animal causes. "Mum asked, ‘Have you ever made a will?’ I said, ‘Thanks a lot!’. But it got me thinking," he explained.

Why wait ’til then?

Do it now, we say!
