Unless you're trying to be a vampire and spent the last week sleeping in a coffin, then you're well aware of North Carolina's news-breaking gay-marriage ban.

Appalled by such an unequal sign of our nation's social climate, nine same-sex couples of Winston-Salem went straight to the Registry of Deeds to protest.

The couples, many of whom brought their children, all applied for a marriage license. And they were all rejected, one by one.

One man even went as far as to request the clerk's printed rejection and date on his application for record. The clerk complied, and Brent Morin then said:

Just last month, actress Amanda Bynes was arrested for a DUI, and now, nearly a month later, her charges have been announced.

According to officials, in the next two weeks, Amanda will be charged with refusal to take a chemical test. In California, it’s illegal to refuse to take a blood or breathalyzer test when you are arrested for a DUI.
