Ugh! More bad news on the listeria infected cantaloupe front.
3 more people have lost their lives after eating contaminated Rocky Ford brand cantaloupes from Jensen Farms of Granada, Colorado. The total death toll as a result is now 18 people, with the CDC reporting at least 100 cases of listeria in 20 states.
Unfortunately, this listeria outbreak is the deadliest food-borne illness outbreak in the United States since 1998.
Do yourself a favor and toss any cantaloupes from Jensen Farms if you have not done so already.
If you don’t see a sticker displaying where the the fruit came from, DO NOT take the chance and throw it out!
It’s better to be safe than sorry!
