Ugh! We thought this mess was over with.
The death toll due to a listeria outbreak from infected cantaloupes has risen to a total of 29!
As of Wednesday, the CDC said 139 persons have been sickened or killed in 28 states since Jensen Farms of Colorado recalled the cantaloupes Sept. 14.
Although the fruit has been taken off of the shelves for weeks, listeria symptoms can take up to two months to surface.
Our hearts go out to anyone affected by the outbreak and send our condolences to families who have lost a loved one.
