This sounds more like a horror movie than real life but this apparently happened: A woman used a potato as a contraceptive and ended up with roots growing inside her!!
Ahh!! That’s like the most horrible thing we’ve ever heard!!
The 22-year-old went to the hospital because she had abdominal pain… and that’s when things took a turn for the horrifying as she told the docs she had used a potato as a contraceptive.

She said her mother told her that shoving a potato up inside her would keep her from getting pregnant.
Apparently there are very high levels of teen pregnancy in Colombia, where the woman lives. The problem is all about the Colombian youths’ general attitude towards safe sex as being lame and there is a big lack of sex education as a whole.
Education is so important because without it, potatoes will start growing in vaginas, apparently, and nobody wants that.
We wish this young woman had had access to the proper knowledge!!
