Doug Kiker has sadly passed away.
The American Idol star, known for making Katy Perry cry over a Rascal Flatts song, was nicknamed “The Singing Garbage Man” on season 18.

His ex fiancée Valerie Cook told TMZ he passed away on Monday, but a cause of death has not been revealed. He was only 32 and leaves behind children.
In a Facebook post, his sister Angela Evans said the singer’s death was “completely unexpected” and the family is “completely unprepared” for final expenses. They started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs, writing in the description:
“It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to one of the most sincere souls and most hilarious person of all. Douglas, a beloved son, brother, father and friend.”

The last time Doug was in the news, he was in some legal trouble after an alleged domestic violence incident back in 2021.
