This poor woman.
Anna Duggar may claim that she’s thankful to God for keeping her and Josh Duggar together throughout his multiple scandals, but in reality, it seems as though she’s effectively trapped in her marriage because of her religion.
During Tuesday’s premiere of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, we got an update on Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald‘s lives, but most of the hour was dedicated to Anna’s meet-up with Josh.

The mother-of-four visited Josh off camera at his Christian recovery center, presumably because TLC knows they can’t let him back on TV.
Anna was understandably nervous about facing Josh after the “painful memories” he’d created. She said on his scandal:
“He had accounts set up on websites that were set up specifically for having an affair and cheating on your spouse, and it was just feeling like your world instantly shattered. How? Where? Why? Just all of those questions running through your mind. It was overwhelming.”
So awful!
And did she say websites? PLURAL??
She reported back to The Duggar family after their reunion, saying:
“I just got back from visiting Joshua, and he loves each one of you guys very much and is just really grateful for a family that’s willing to talk straight and to grieve when you’ve fallen, but also to love and forgive and have hope. So I look forward to seeing what God has in the future.
This visit was great because it definitely gives a lot of hope, but I think also the weight of everything is also there, and so definitely it drives me deeper to my faith. God’s grace can give me the strength to love Josh when others would say he doesn’t deserve it.“
We’re glad she has her faith to keep her sane right now, but realistically, what is she supposed to do??
If she leaves Josh, she’ll be cut off by her family and the 19 Kids and Counting clan since they don’t believe in divorce, but if she stays with him, she has to endure the public humiliation that comes with him being a molester and a cheater.
We do not envy her right now…
