It’s over for Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber.
The two are taking the whole “New Year, New Me” vibe literally — because they are both embarking on new relationship statuses as single stars after splitting from each other at the very end of 2024!
According to a brand new report from TMZ on Tuesday, the Elvis Oscar nominee was noticeably absent from Kaia’s family trip down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to ring in the New Year. While Kaia was south of the border with her world-famous momma Cindy Crawford and her tequila-peddling father Rande Gerber, Austin was… well, somewhere else. Naturally, folks started asking questions about where he’d run off to, and BAM! Breakup news.

Per that outlet, the duo ended their romantic relationship at the very end of 2024 just before Kaia’s family trip to Mexico. So, right around the holidays! Ugh! It’s when a lot of couples bite the dust, unfortunately.
But don’t despair too hard, Perezcious readers! Sources told the news org there’s no bad blood between the couple. Instead, the duo’s time together just ran its course, and their three-year relationship fizzled out. Aw, man. That sucks, but it happens! Especially with busy stars on the rise! A lot of time apart and a LOT of options out there.
For a while there in mid-2023, it seemed like engagement rumors were everywhere for these two. But despite being together for three years in total, they never took their relationship to the next level. Instead, Austin and Kaia were seen together less and less often in recent months. In this case, at least, absence didn’t make the heart grow fonder!
