Celebrities are used to getting special treatment, and when they don’t get it they sometimes lash out.
That’s what happened when The Biggest Loser’s trainer Bob Harper couldn’t get a table at Bar La Grassa in Minneapolis.
Bob had the American Express concierge service call the bar and ask for a reservation at 7:30, but the manager, Michael Lecy, informed the service that all tables were full.
“I couldn’t even get a table for five [at 7:30] if I was calling on a Saturday for that night,” joked bar owner Isaac Becker.
Lecy then got a second call from AmEx, this time they said that “the customer is willing to release his name.” But Lecy reconfirmed that they had no tables.
“The only way we could accommodate them is if we screwed someone else over, and we don’t do that,” said Becker.
That’s when Bob Harper took to twitter:
OMG!! The manager at Bar Lagrasa in Minneapolis was SO RUDE to me. I wanted to have dinner there. Why are people so mean sometimes?
And Minneapolis is one of my favorite places … why did the manager at Bar Lagrasa have to be like that?? I still love it here!!
Bar owner Isaac was upset about this:
“This guy never talked to Mike, and he’s portraying himself as a victim, and getting people wound up about how rude we were to him, and he never spoke to anyone at the restaurant. He has 125,000 Twitter followers, and we don’t have any kind of recourse.”
Isaac spent a good portion of his night fielding 15 or so calls from angry fans of Bob, who were upset that he didn’t get a table.
We have NO idea why Bob got so hung up about this! There are plenty of restaurants in Minneapolis, Bob. Instead of attacking people, live up to your reputation as a positive, happy person and GO TO A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT!
