When she was a little girl on her family farm in Oklahoma, Carrie saw the harsh realities of farming, including banding.
Banding occurs when an elastic band is tied tightly around a bull’s testicles, cutting off blood flow until the testes fall off.
Carrie saw this and made the connection that her family’s cow could have possibly been on her plate at the dinner table.
