If you have excessive food allergies, it may be worth making another trip to the doctor and get a few more tests done.
Scientists have found that many people who allegedly have certain food allergies don’t actually have them at all. Faulty diagnoses are to blame.
For an accurate diagnosis “it takes a combination [of different tests], and in some cases an oral food challenge” where patients are given small amounts of food under close medical supervision says Hugh A. Sampson, director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
Food allergies suck, so if you think there may have been a mis-diagnosis go talk to a doctor!
