Chelsea Handler is moving onto greener pastures for her new talk show Chelsea!
And while the comedienne couldn’t be more excited for her upcoming Netflix venture, she made it clear that it will be NOTHING like her last stint as talk show host!
The 41-year-old hasn’t been shy about criticizing E! — the network which aired her late night show Chelsea Lately for seven seasons — saying that she didn’t “respect their opinions” while working at the pop culture-centric network.

But with her new streaming show right around the corner, Handler is once again putting her former network on blast, saying her experience was “incredibly frustrating.”
In an interview for Fast Company‘s May cover story, the Chelsea Does star says:

“You’re a reflection of the company you keep, and I wasn’t impressed with anybody. The people I was working with on the network side, they never could think big. I just wanted to leave, to be somewhere else.”

The late night host, who left E! Back in 2014, praises the streaming service for allowing her to have such creative freedom for her new show, adding:

“When we were on the network, I can’t tell you how many times we had to take jokes out because of advertisers. It was constant bickering back and forth. You can’t do this, you can’t do that. There was no creative license.”

Chelsea also talks about the rumors that she was in talks to take over David Letterman‘s Late Show — fueled by an Instagram photo she posted of a “business meeting” at CBS.

Handler explains that while she was “offered several jobs,” doing yet another late night show didn’t pique her interest, admitting:

“Those were just meetings that people wanted to take. I was offered several jobs. I was offered syndication late-night shows. But they were all conversations that didn’t get far, because there was no point. I was never interested. I didn’t want to step into somebody else’s shoes. I didn’t want to be on some other late-night show doing the same sh*t again.”

Well, we can’t wait to see the funny lady do completely different sh*t when Chelsea premieres on May 11 on Netflix!
