Awful! China Has Dog Meat Festival!

This is absolutely disgusting!!
In Yulin in Guangxi province, China, there is a festival that many residents consider an ancient summer solstice tradition.
A dog-meat festival!!
This awful festival leads to the deaths of 10,000 dogs, many of whom are electrocuted, burned and skinned alive!
The South China Morning Post said:

“They use knives to kill the dogs which are alive. Then people would like to burn the dogs, which are conscious, so they can eat them.”

That is the worst thing EVER!!
The dogs that are eaten are often strays, which means they could be full of disease or parasites.
Eating dogs isn’t just cruel and disgusting, it can be really unhealthy too!
Many animal rights activists inside and outside of China have been trying to get the city to stop the festival.
The problem is dog-meat is seen as a nutritious wintertime dish and is even prescribed by doctors to treat impotence and poor circulation.
We really hope an animal rights group can get through to the local government and get this festival ended!!
