It’s been 20 years since Alanis Morissette‘s hit You Outta Know came out, and we’re STILL talking about it!!
Mainly because for many years Full House‘s Uncle Joey aka Dave Coulier has been the rumored inspiration behind his exes scorn-worthy jam.
Well now, the comedienne is speaking out for one last time about the certified bash song, revealing that he’s totally not involved — or so he wants us to think!!
In a new interview, Dave explained the entire confusing situation:
“I dated Alanis in 1992. You know, it├óΓé¼Γäós just funny to be the supposed subject of that song. First of all, the guy in that song is a real a-hole, so I don├óΓé¼Γäót want to be that guy. Secondly, I asked Alanis, “I’m getting calls by the media and they want to know who this guy is.” And she said, “Well, you know it could be a bunch of people. But you can say whatever you want.” So one time, I was doing a red carpet somewhere and [the press] just wore me down and everybody wanted to know so I said, “Yeah, all right, I├óΓé¼Γäóm the guy. There I said it.” So then it became a snowball effect of, “OH! So you are the guy!” It’s just become this silly urban legend that I just have to laugh at.”
Alanis revealed that there could’ve been multiple men involved in the writing process, so we have a feeling Mr. Coulier might be a part of it after all!
It’s all very back and fourth — and it doesn’t help that the actor recently joked about it with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live!
