Dog The Bounty Hunter 'Distraught' After Thief Steals Late Wife's Personal Items In Store Heist

Dog the Bounty Hunter robbery response

Dog The Bounty Hunter is distraught.

The reality TV star has already been grieving the death of his wife and longtime loveBeth Chapman, and now he must also deal with a burglary case in Colorado. Law enforcement sources are reporting sometime late Thursday afternoon, a suspect (or suspects) broke into Dog’s Colorado merchandise store and stole several different items — including some of Beth’s personal possessions.

According to ET, an employee showed up at the shop to get some work done yesterday evening, only to discover the place had been ransacked. Upon further investigation, after police were called, employees discovered many items were missing, including stolen merchandise which had been for sale.

Even worse than just a simple burglary, though, a law enforcement source reported personal items of Beth’s were lifted in the heist, too — including some of her actual bounty hunting gear from the couple’s popular reality TV show. The source further informed the outlet (below):

“The thieves not only took new merchandise, but they took items that personally belonged to Beth. Mementos that were part of a makeshift memorial [inside the store] were taken, too.”

Ugh…

Obviously, with Dog still actively grieving his wife’s untimely death from cancer earlier this summer, the news of Beth’s personal items being stolen has been very difficult to absorb. The source, who confirmed “thousands” of dollars in damage was done, revealed more about Dog’s mental state after the robbery, as well (below):

“Dog is devastated. He’s distraught.”

Knowing how hard Dog took Beth’s death in the first place, we can’t even begin to imagine how he’s coping with things like this added on top of his burden of mourning. So sad…

Very late last night, Dog took to Twitter to address the robbery, giving an ominous warning to those who may be involved while offering a cash reward for retribution (below):

So far, nobody appears to have come forward with any information on the case. Police in Edgewater, Colorado are currently investigating the evidence left behind and searching for suspects, but it’s unclear if they have any potential leads yet. Naturally, we’ll keep you posted as anything newsworthy continues to unfold.

Tough enough to deal with on its own, the robbery is just another unfortunate event in what’s proving to be an exceptionally difficult summer for Dog and his family. Beth’s death has left him reeling — even despite seeing tremendous emotional support from fans and a grieving public, both in Hawaii and Colorado, where the Chapman family kept their homes.

We can only hope and pray police figure out who did this — and more importantly, that Dog may find peace and be allowed to properly, fully grieve the loss of the love of his life.
