Donald Trump Will Do Celebrity Apprentice In His 'Spare Time,' According To Kellyanne Conway

As if this isn’t the group that endlessly blasted Barack Obama for playing golf in his spare time, now Donald Trump will be having some kind of hands-on role with Celebrity Apprentice, even as President, according to Kellyanne Conway.
The former Trump team campaign manager went on CNN on Friday arguing that “presidents have a right to do things in their spare time,” which would be a great argument if her President-elect hadn’t endlessly blasted Obama for golfing in his spare time.

But Conway went deeper than that, going further on New Day to argue that Trump’s plan to continue on as an executive producer at Celebrity Apprentice is a transparent move, and not a conflict of interest for the TV network that also runs a media organization that will need to cover Trump’s presidency:

“He’s a very transparent guy. Everyone can see what he’s doing, and the fact is that he is conferring with all types of experts who tell him what he can do and not do as President of the United States. If this is one of the approved activities, then perhaps he will consider staying on.”

He’s a very transparent guy?!
Oh, please.

And when CNN host Alisyn Camerota shot back at Conway for the Obama golf criticism, and asked whether Trump was going to golf — or do any other considerable activities — in his spare time, Conway retorted:

“Well, maybe [Trump] will be [playing golf]. It certainly seems like there is a lot of time to do based on recent precedent while you’re president the United States. But the point is the same. Whether it’s President Obama or President Donald Trump, the idea that these men are going to be all work and nothing else all the time is just unrealistic because it’s never happened in our lifetimes.”

Uh-huh. Note how much that tune changes when your guy gets into the office…

Regardless, there’s not only a massive conflict of interest here with a sitting president wanting to run a reality show at a news network while in office, there’s also the fact that Obama’s golf (a fun, occasional diversion) and Trump’s literal second job as an executive producer make for a very, very bad comparison.
Yeah, it’s going to be a great four years, isn’t it?! Ugh…
