The Love Me Like You Do singer appears on the latest issue of Seventeen magazine looking fresh and lovely, and comments on some of her past relationships.
Either interviewers won’t stop with the questions or Ellie is keen on setting the record completely straight.
Regarding ex Niall Horan, she said:

“We’re still friends. We went on a few dates, and it was really fun. He’s a really, really lovely guy. He’s got the biggest sense of humor, he’s very caring, and I see him as a genuine friend in the industry.”

But she once again denied ever having a relationship with Ed Sheeran:

“We’ve known each other for a few years. I think he’s a really nice guy and a brilliant musician. We’ve bumped into each other and we’ve hung out and stuff, but the thing is if I hang out with someone, it’s instantly like I’m ‘dating’ them. We were never in a relationship.”

The 29-year-old also discusses insecurity and learning to love yourself:

“When I became a teenager, it was very hard. I started getting hips, I was flat-chested, I was very pale├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥all these things that got me down. If girls are anything like me when I was a teenager, then I want them to know everything is going to be okay. It took me a while to cope with it, and one thing I wish I could tell my teenage self is that everything is fine; you grow out of those things.
“I don’t want girls to get to my age and feel like they’re not pretty enough, not thin enough, or they’re not good enough for something or someone. I’m naturally compassionate├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥that’s something I really like about myself. I always consider other people before myself, and I think that’s what I try to do with my music.”

Finally, she grazes over a touchy subject with knowledge and grace:

“[Feminist] means that you believe that women should have the same rights as men, that women should be paid as much as men. I think some people get confused thinking women need to be given more power, but women haveso much power. I truly believe we make the world a better place.”

Right on!
