It might be time to trade up to organic milk!
A European Union-funded study analyzed 22 brands of milk and found that organic milk had lower levels of saturated fats and higher levels of beneficial fatty acids than non-organic milk.
Said lead researcher Gillian Butler:
“Switching to organic milk and dairy products provides a natural way to increase our intake of nutritionally desirable fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants without increasing our intake of less desirable fatty acids. By choosing organic milk you can cut saturated fats by 30-50 per cent.”
Here’s our advice: If you can afford it, switch. If not, regular milk is totes fine!!
