Fran Drescher Says 'Don't Frack New York!'

Preach it, gurl!
Cancer survivor and early detection advocate Fran Drescher is one of the many people joining together to send New York Governor Andrew Cuomo a message — don’t frack New York!
The Happily Divorced star and FitPerez contributor placed her John Hancock on a letter written by Heinz Award-winning biologist and cancer survivor Sandra Steingraber, which demonstrates links between the controversial energy-extraction process, known as hydrofracking, and cancer.
In a statement explaining her decision to send Gov. Cuomo the letter, the actress said:

├óΓé¼┼ôFracking for natural gas is a dangerous process that uses hundreds of cancer-causing chemicals that end up in our air and water.”

Who would want to even risk that?
Certainly not Mark Ruffalo or Michelle Williams! The actor starring in the upcoming Avengers movie has spoken out against the potentially environmentally threatening process, while the My Week With Marilyn star wrote an email to the governor’s office, reading:

“I cannot and will not stand back and watch as these irreversibly damaging processes come into my community — destroying the lands that I love and endangering the health and livelihoods of my family, friends and neighbors.”

We’re glad so many people are speaking out against a potentially life threatening process!
Watch Fran’s short PSA on the issue above and if you’re a New Yorker, let your governor know you don’t want more cancer risks floating around than there already are!
