Heigl To Adopt

This might be why constant smoker Katherine Heigl hasn’t been spotted publicly with a cigarette in her hand for a while.

Looks like Heigl is going to become a mommy soon!

But, she isn’t preggers.

In Touch Weekly is confirming that Heigl and her hubby, Josh Kelley, are in the process of adopting a baby from Korea.

A friend of the couple says, “They’ve filled out the paperwork and have been approved and now it’s just a matter of waiting.They’ve been planning this for a long time.”

So why adopt from Korea?

Well, Katherin’e sister, Meg, was adopted from Korea over 30 years ago. That apparently has made Heigl feel closer to the culture.

However, Korea has a law that prospective parents must be generally be married for three years before adopting. Makes sense.

Hiegl got married last December. The couple doesn’t mind waiting, though.

A source says, “It’s always been her dream to adopt. They haven’t ruled out a biological child down the line either.”

Congrats to the future parents.

Let’s hope the adoption process goes by smoothly.
