Former MLB star Jim Edmonds just announced he has tested positive for coronavirus — a conclusive diagnosis the baseball player and his family had been seeking for days now after he showed symptoms consistent with it.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County star has been in an ongoing dispute with estranged wife Meghan King Edmonds over the travel and custody of their children, too. As it now turns out, it’s probably a good thing she wound up taking the kids back to California days ago — if only to hopefully spare them from the sickness.

The longtime St. Louis Cardinals star made the announcement Wednesday night on his Instagram Stories, informing the public and his fans that a bout of pneumonia was coupled with the positive diagnosis for coronavirus in his case. Interestingly, though, he mentioned he’s now symptom-free and “doing really well,” and pondered about whether he had the virus “for a while” before the test came back positive.
During his announcement last night, Edmonds said in part:
“I appreciate everyone who has sent well wishes and wished me the best. I did test positive for pneumonia and I did get a test back positive for the virus. I am completely symptom-free now and doing really well, so I must have had it for a while before i got tested. My daughter [Hayley, pictured above] has been tested too, and she’s waiting for her results, but she is symptom-free, and so we’re all doing really well here.”
Great to hear! Obviously, with so many deaths from coronavirus-related complications worldwide in the past few months, it’s at least encouraging to hear how there are very mild cases, as well. The former center fielder and embattled husband continued with his message from there, warning followers to push hard for a test if they personally felt like they were sick:
“Do not take this lightly. If you don’t feel good, go to the doctor or go to the emergency room if you can’t breathe. That’s what happened to me. They didn’t want to test me, and I forced them to take me into the emergency room, and, lo and behold, pneumonia and the virus. So, don’t take it lightly, take care of yourselves. There’s no medicine, there’s no nothing, but rest, and that’s all I’ve been doing.”
Wow! Very interesting to note how he had to push so hard for a test. What a weird feeling of vindication that must’ve been when it came back positive…

As for Meghan, it seems like she’s losing track of the days spent in quarantine and self-isolation — just like the rest of us!
