Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel
is back!
As you know, Will Arnett and Kristen Bell filled in on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as the late night comedian took a paternity leave to care for his newborn son, Billy, who was born with a congenital heart disease.
In an emotional monologue after Billy’s emergency open heart surgery earlier this month, the 49-year-old made a plea for keeping health care available to people who can’t afford it and those with pre-existing conditions — a speech that garnered a lot of support from anyone with a heart, and obviously, a lot of criticism from the right.

After thanking everyone for the outpouring of love and donations to CHLA, the TV personality responded to some of the negative comments he received, particularly from Republicans in Congress including former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich.
The comedian joked:

“I’d like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care. It was insensitive. It was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
