Much Ado About Kate Middleton's Solomon Islands Dress

She was just trying to do the right thing!!!
During the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s Diamond Jubilee trip to the Solomon Islands, Kate had every intention of wearing the local clothing, but that didn├óΓé¼Γäót go as planned.
Before they arrived, Kethie Sunders, a member of the Island├óΓé¼Γäós welcome committee, snuck into their room and bestowed some extra goodies upon the royals, which included the Tav Pacific NZ hand-dyed batik dress Catherine ended up wearing at the last minute to the Governor General’s banquet.
Unbeknownst to her, the frock originated from the Cook Islands, some 3,000 miles away.
Oops.
The Island├óΓé¼Γäós Government was none too pleased by Sunders’ move, and released a terse statement, saying:

├óΓé¼┼ôWe are incredibly frustrated that this situation has come about and see Kethie as entirely to blame. It was completely inappropriate for her to go to Their Royal Highnesses’ room, which she filled with various things, causing confusion.├óΓé¼┬¥

Poor Kethie! We’d be overzealous too! Lolz!
But Clarence House assured everyone that the intention to wear native clothes was understood and appreciated, so no one was offended.
Phew!
We’re sure Kate would have looked just as perfect in the Solomon Island’s garb too!
