Always knock *loudly* before entering Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ bedroom!
That was the lesson Lola Consuelos learned on Father’s Day morning after she accidentally witnessed her parents having sex. Oops!
The couple of 23 years told the hilariously awkward tale during Monday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, in which Mark filled in for Ryan Seacrest as his wife’s cohost.

Revealing that this wasn’t the first time one of their three children had walked in on them, Mark began:
“We started her day off pretty bad yesterday; it happened again. She knocked on our door… our bedroom door.”
With a grin, Mark reminded the audience the incident happened on Father’s Day — a day where receiving some mid-morning delight might be traditionally expected.
Despite her willing participation, however, Kelly was “not in the mood.” She admitted:
“I’m going to be honest: I was not in the mood. There was a house full of people … my in-laws were waiting to eat!”
Mark detected this, as he quipped:
“I could tell. You were going through the motions!”
But that didn’t stop her from fulfilling her wifely duties. The ABC host continued to have fun with her hubby… until their daughter burst into their bedroom — without knocking, according to Ripa.
The teen apparently didn’t see anything too traumatizing, but she did make “eye contact” with her mother.
To make matters worse, Sunday also happened to be Lola’s 18th birthday — which was effectively ruined thanks to the unwanted encounter. Kelly recalled:
“She shuts the door and you hear, ‘You just ruined my birthday! And my life! And I used to see in color and now everything is gray.'”
LOLz! Thanks mom and dad!
The tension continued into their “awkward brunch,” as Kelly explained:
“We’re eating, and we’re like, ‘This is delicious, that’s delicious,’ and she’s like, ‘You’re disgusting.'”
Mark chimed in, saying:
“She goes, ‘You guys have no chill. You think you’re 20, but you’re not.'”
The couple’s other two children, 21-year-old Michael and 16-year-old Joaquin, soon shared their own stories of the times they walked in on their parents.
Ripa mused:
“Nobody knocks in our house! … Lola’s like, ‘I knocked. You can’t hear me because you’re deaf from exercise class,’ which may or may not be true.”
To illustrate her point, Lola returned to her parents’ room later that night and made sure to knock super loudly. Kelly added:
“It was like a fire department knock, like boom, boom, boom.”
Ha!
Maybe try locking the door next time!
