Step Aside Cabbage Patch Kids! Youngsters In China Taking Actual Cabbages For WALKS To Fight Depression!

Kids in China have found an interesting way to fight depression!
Who even needs a dog these days? Especially when you have a loyal head of cabbage that will NEVER leave your side!!
Well that’s exactly what a handful of youngsters in China thought, as they have been taking cabbages out for walks to fight loneliness and depression!
And just to clarify, we are NOT talking about the cute Cabbage Patch Kids dolls you grew up with. We’re talking about the leafy green veggies!
As strange as it might sounds to see a group of kids walking around with a head of cabbage on a leash, Chinese psychiatrist Wen Chao says it actually makes a lot of sense:

“The idea is simple ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ you feel as lonely and as simple as a cabbage, so you begin to act like one and befriend one. And in that acceptance comes change.”

Still not convinced?
Well 17-year-old Lui Ja Chen says he tried the odd pastime, and not only did it help him fight depression, but it also helped him meet new people! He explains:

“I feel I can transfer my negative thoughts about myself to the cabbage, go for a walk with it and come home feeling better about myself. If I see someone else its easy to start up a conversation with them about their cabbage, and they are better than dogs as they don├óΓé¼Γäót bark, or start fights with other cabbages, it doesn├óΓé¼Γäót even need feeding, or leave a mess on the pavement. In fact afterwards, I can throw the cabbage away and feel that I have tossed my feelings out with it.”

Wow! We guess we never looked at it that way before!
Maybe next time we’re feeling a bit down we can take the ole head of cabbage out for a walk! Who knows, maybe it’ll make us feel better!
