Who doesn’t wonder what celebs do with their money? Well, apparently everyone is curious because celeb finances are now becoming the focus of a new art installation.
Miranda July has created the We Think Alone project that uses emails from celebs as the centerpiece for the money-themed project.
And Kirsten Dunst, Lena Dunham and author Sheila Heti are a part of the first release!
That’s right, Perezcious readers, you’re getting the goods about their money!
Kirsten’s email snippet reveals info about the sale of her car as it reads:
“My friend Jessica is buying my car for 7,000 I gave her your info for payments … She’s going to pay 2,000 up front and then pay the rest as fast as she can. Don’t know the paper work involved, but Warren mentioned he had something.Thanks, Kirsten.”
What a steal for a previously owned celeb car!
Meanwhile, Lena’s email is ridiculously insightful as it reveals she was actually considering buying an almost $24K couch! The email to her reads:
“The price to make the Liljevalch Sofa is $14,878.93 plus the fabric which is $283.56 per meter and we would need 20 meters of fabric. So the entire cost of the couch would be $20,554.39. Shipping the sofa: It will take between 16 and 20 weeks to make and ship the sofa to us (from Sweden and will cost $3,080.85, plus $400.00 in customs charges. whenever you pick the fabric I can order for you! 🙂 xox”
Luckily for her bank account, she responded:
“decided it’s just too expensive:)”
That couch better come with Zac Efron if it’s going to cost that much! LOLz!
Catherine Opie, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lee Smolin also took part in the project and will be released later.
