Liam Neeson Insists He's 'Not A Racist' After Revealing Shocking Racially-Charged Revenge Plot

Liam Neeson wants you to know he’s definitely not racist… at least not anymore!
The Taken actor stopped by GMA Tuesday to address his recent revelation about once stalking the streets armed with a big stick in hopes of killing a random “black bastard” after a close friend of his was raped.
Speaking to Robin Roberts, the 66-year-old actor said he “understood” why his story sparked so much backlash, but insisted he’s “not a racist” because “this was nearly 40 years ago.”

But, he explained, he did feel a “primal urge to lash out” after becoming aware of his friend’s alleged attacker:

“I went out deliberately into black areas in the city, looking to be set upon so I could unleash physical violence. I did it maybe 4 or 5 times, until I caught myself on. And it really shocked me, this primal urge I had… Luckily no violence occurred.”

While he only shared the story with the media this week, Neeson said he did seek professional confessional help shortly after his racially-charged revenge plot, adding:

“I did seek help. I went to a priest, who heard my confession.”

The Northern Ireland native said he was “ashamed” by his “awful” behavior that was revealed as he discussed his latest film Cold Pursuit in an interview with The Independent.

His story unleashed outrage on social media, with many calling Neeson racist. Others applauded the actor for being honest about how he — and society — viewed black people in the 1970s.
For what it’s worth, the actor noted that he would have coldly pursued a white man had his friend said her rapist was white.
Do U think he’s being brave for bringing awareness with his honesty, or should Neeson have taken this story to the grave? Watch his interview (below) and sound off in the comments.
