We’ve got another daytime TV scandal on our hands!
Remember when Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan were at the center of drama in the world of morning news?? Yeah, us neither…
Instead, we’re now completely focused on all those romance rumors going on between TODAY‘s Matt Lauer and Natalie Morales!

For those of you out of the loop, people first started suspecting an affair when Natalie announced that she would be adding a hosting gig over at Access Hollywood to her already busy NBC schedule.
You see, people close to the talk show believed Natalie was forced out because her rumored relationship with Matt had gone sour, but now both hosts are denying ever having slept together.
In fact, the married mother-of-two issued a statement defending her 18-year marriage to Joseph Rhodes on Wednesday, saying:

“There is absolutely no truth to this completely absurd story. It is damaging, hurtful, and extremely sexist. I have proven myself in all aspects of my job as a news professional and journalist, and am adding to my role, taking on three jobs with Access Hollywood Live and Access Hollywood, in addition to TODAY. This move was dictated by me and my desire to grow in my career. Any insinuations beyond that are uninformed.”

You tell ’em, Nat!

Matt echoed Natalie’s message with a simpler response the same day, saying:

“Every aspect of this story is untrue, and it’s frankly sad that someone would tell lies to harm everyone involved.”

The senior TODAY anchor has also been married to wife Annette Roque for 18 years — and they have three kids together — so we’re sure these cheating allegations are difficult for everyone involved.
In the end… Natalie got a promotion, and people could still only talk about how a man was ultimately responsible for it. Sad.
