High School Student Shot For Wielding Knife At Classmates May Have Been A Victim Of Bullying Himself

no title
This is upsetting on so many levels.
In case you hadn’t heard, a Nevada high school student was shot by police after he lunged at his classmates with a knife in the Procter R. Hug High schoolyard on Wednesday.
One police officer was forced to use his weapon on 14-year-old Logan Clark after he refused to follow orders and drop the knife, but he did not succumb to his wounds. It’s said Clark is currently being treated at a Reno based hospital and is in critical condition.

But if this story wasn’t already upsetting enough, it seems as though young Logan brought the weapon to school in response to the bullying he had recently been dealing with.
Logan’s father Justin Clark has since taken to Facebook to defend his son, reportedly writing:

“To idiots that think Logan was wrong know he was being bullied he is not the kind to back down. He brought the knives because he was gonna b jumped and the school knew of this and failed to act.”

While this in no way excuses Logan’s actions, it does shed some light into why the high schooler felt the need to bring a weapon to school.
Not to mention, one of the parents from the school confirmed that Logan was “bullied for days!”

Demick Laflamme, whose son is friends with Clark, explained to the Reno-Gazette Journal on Thursday:

“He is my son’s best friend. He’s a victim and he’s only 15 years old [sic]… He’s a good kid. All of his friends like him. Hell, even I love him and I don’t like kids.”

Of course, Laflamme was also infuriated that the cop shot his son’s friend in front of a crowd of students, adding:

“The kids take bullying into their own hands, and he was shot for it. How could they shoot a kid in front of a bunch of other kids? My kid was right there. He could’ve been hurt. My son tried to go help (his friend) and the police told him to back off.”

Hmmm, fair point.
Although, we’re hearing from the district there actually is an investigation into the shooting underway!
Our thoughts are with all of those involved in this upsetting story.
