New York City Set To Ban Big Sodas!

NYC is going to fire the first shot in a new war on obesity.
They plan to ban the sale of large sodas and sugary drinks.
The ban would actually make it illegal to sell a drink larger than 16 ounces at restaurants, food carts and any other place that is actively serving food.
The New York City Department of Health will submit the measure to the Board of Health soon.
A document along with the proposal said:

“The Health Department will then provide restaurants six months from the time the Board of Health adopts the proposal before citing violations, and nine months before issuing fines.”

This is a serious move. We feel there are going to be a lot of unhappy people out there, now having to buy two sodas instead of one!
A public interest spokesman said:

“In the same way New York City generated momentum for calorie labeling and for getting rid of artificial trans fat, we hope this move today will start a national movement to ratchet down out of control soda serving sizes.”

Guess it’s up to the government to protect its people from themselves sometimes.
We wonder what kind of backlash there will be?
Hopefully people will realize this is a healthy move!
Cut out the soda, you guys!
