How devastating.
In case you haven’t heard, Montecito, California and other parts of Southern California are in crisis after mudslides, caused by heavy rainfall, occurred this week. As you know, these same areas were recently hit by wildfires, which left the burnt ground unable to absorb as much water.
So far, at least 15 people have died while others are missing and hundreds await rescue after being trapped by debris in Montecito’s Romero Canyon area.
On Wednesday, Oprah Winfrey gave her followers a tour of the damage on her estate via Instagram. You can see the TV queen knee-deep in mud as she walks around surveying the property with helicopters flying overhead looking for people to rescue.

Ellen DeGeneres, who has a house nearby, also shared:
This is the street in front of our house. I don’t know anything about our house yet. I’m heartbroken for our community of Montecito. I’m devastated for the families who lost loved ones. I’m grateful to all the rescue workers. Please send love to Montecito.A post shared by Ellen (@theellenshow) on Jan 10, 2018 at 11:15am PST
