Paula Deen‘s son, Jamie, has just won the award for understatement of the century: he said that last summer was a “tough” one… because of the whole racism scandal thing.
According to him, though, it made his family grow closer!
He’s talking about it now because Paula’s about to try and re-enter the public spotlight, having both her eponymous cruise line launching January 18, and a book signing scheduled in February!
Here’s what Jamie said:
‘It was a tough summer, but it├óΓé¼Γäós made us stronger as a family … We are good members of the community and our attitude is to learn from our mistakes and go forward. She├óΓé¼Γäós always been true to herself and she can really brighten up someone├óΓé¼Γäós week just by spending time with them. She├óΓé¼Γäós authentic.
‘We look forward to getting back to work and persevering…We are going to have a big year in 2014!’
We guess only time — and whether or not people are keen on forgiving and forgetting — will tell!
Her cruise is scheduled to head to heading to San Juan, St Thomas and St Maarten. Her book signing will be in Buffalo, NY.
