Scott Disick Recalls Memories Of His Late Parents With Son Reign -- He Wants His Kids To Feel 'Connected'

A new bonus scene from season 18 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians shows Scott Disick making real, heartwarming progress working through his grief over the passing of his mom and dad.

As you’ll recall, Scott has long struggled with the sudden, back-to-back deaths of his parents Bonnie and Jeffrey, which occurred back in late 2013 and early 2014. Losing them both in less than three months’ time forever changed the reality TV star, leaving him to struggle as he has attempted to cope with the loss for years now.

But if the video clip (above) is any indication, perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope ahead — a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel!

In the bonus clip here, the 37-year-old Flip It Like Disick star is seen looking through old family photos with his 5-year-old son Reign, as Kim Kardashian West takes interest alongside. While leafing through the old albums and reminiscing on all the good times, Kim recalled her own memories about Scott’s beloved parents, saying to the young grandson (below):

“Look this was your grandpa. He was so nice. And your grandma Bonnie, she was so silly. She would have loved you — loved you the best. You know why? Because you’re so silly.”

Awww!

For the Talentless founder, however, it proved remarkably more difficult to talk about his parents — even to his own children, like with Reign. In a confessional, the house flipper admitted it was painful to reminisce like that, but also realized the value of doing so, if only to remind his kids about his family’s legacy, history, and memories.

Scott said:

“You know, I don’t think I was really ready to talk about my family but now I think the more I talk about my parents the more my kids will feel connected to them and remember them. That’s the only way that they’re gonna ever feel that connection.”

Amen to that!

As fans of KUWTK will no doubt recall, all this came about originally back in an earlier 2020 episode of the show when a man named Dave Hacker — longtime best friend to Scott’s late father — came around with old family photos and memories to share with the young dad.

Though perhaps even more painful at the time, Disick slowly came around to glancing through the pages and recalling the good times he had with his beloved family.

Kourtney Kardashian‘s baby daddy said at the time:

“As much as I was dreading looking through some photos because I thought it was going to bring out sad memories, I’m happy that Dave brought them with him. The truth is, it brought up so many amazing memories and things that I forgot.”

Love it!

It’s a long road processing grief like this, and a part of Scott’s heart will always be missing after the sudden deaths of his parents no matter what he does, but at least things appear to be heading in a positive direction now, too. Here’s to sharing more old memories with Reign, Penelope, and Mason — as well as making many new ones with the whole family, too!
