Senate Passes Food Safety Bill

It seemed like it was doomed to failure for a while there, but the Food Safety Bill was finally passed in the Senate yesterday!

The bill will strengthen the power of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which oversees 80 percent of the nation’s food supply, greatly improving its ability to ensure safety.

The bill is the biggest overhaul of the Food and Drug Administration in a long time, and was a also a success in that it received bipartisan support in the Senate.

This is a great bill because it will help insure that the food we consume every day is safe! Plus, with how divided democrats and republicans are, it’s refreshing to see them work together on something!
