The Spice Girls are gearing up for a reunion, but it may not be exactly what we expected.
As you likely saw, Posh (Victoria Beckham), Scary (Mel B), Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton), and Sporty (Melanie C) all recently reunited for a meeting with former manager Simon Fuller (AKA the creator of the Idol franchise). And, per their statement, the group decided during the meeting that it was time to “explore some incredible new opportunities together.”

While many have hoped that this meet up would result in a new album or tour by the girl group, it’s said the ladies are actually looking to launch a television talent show. The spicy update comes from a podcast host, named Geoff Lloyd, who took to Twitter and shared:
From a friend who works in TV: Spice Girls reunion project is a TV talent format, where the original Spice Girls are judges searching for/mentoring next generation. ie. A new Ginger/Sporty/Baby/Scary/Posh. Like Muppet Babies, but for Girl Power

Huh. This actually makes sense, as Fuller has created some of the most famous singing competitions and Mel B has been a judge on America’s Got Talent. Oh, and let’s not forget about Emma’s judging stint on Boy Band.
Nonetheless, we feel fans will be enraged if a tour and/or album doesn’t come out of the latest collaboration. Friendship never ends, right? So give us some new freakin’ music!!
