Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Confetti Was Made Out Of Confidential Police Docs

thanksgiving macy parade police docs confetti
This is a pretty dumb mistake for two glaring reasons:
1. Why would you ever use shredded confidential police documents for confetti, regardless of them being shredded?
2. Why would you shred sensitive material horizontally, which is a way things can still be easily read, and easily put back together?
We find it really hard to believe that someone let all these horizontally shredded confidential police documents to be a part of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade confetti — because nobody is that dense! Some of the information included social security numbers and banking information for police employees, some of whom are undercover officers!
Here’s what one witness said:

“It landed on her shoulder and it says ‘SSN’ and it’s written like a social security number, and we’re like, ‘That’s really bizarre.’ There are phone numbers, addresses, more social security numbers, license plate numbers and then we find all these incident reports from police.”

There was even information about Mitt Romney‘s motorcade, apparently from the final presidential debate!!
Mind blowing, and reckless. The pieces identified Nassau County detectives by name, some of which are undercover. Their social security numbers, dates of birth and other highly sensitive personal information was also printed.
Someone’s gettin’ fiiiiiiiiiiired for sure!
We hope all those cops stay safe!
