This is crazy!
During the Summer Games in London, over 14 MILLION meals will be served!
That’s a lot of fish and chips!
Organizers have called their plans:
“[├óΓé¼┬ª] the largest peace time catering operation in the world.”
The foods being served will show the “heritage and diversity of British regional products and recipes” and be ethically and environmentally friendly.
Prices will also be surprisingly reasonable. (As far as stadium food goes.)
A beer will cost about $6.50, bottled water about $2.50, a bottle of coke about $3.50 and a plate of fish and chips will be around $12.50.
Paul Deighton, chief executive of organizing committee LOCOG, said:
“We have gone to great lengths to find top quality, tasty food that celebrates the best of Britain. We believe that our prices are more than comparable to those found at other major sporting events, which because of their temporary nature are often more expensive than the high street.”
So no one will be going hungry at the 2012 Olympics!
