Sure, Austin Butler is hotter than ever before — career and charisma-wise — after his split from Vanessa Hudgens. But don’t expect the High School Musical alum to show any regret! Quite the opposite!
Vanessa was a guest on Wednesday’s episode of the She Pivots podcast, where she opened up about the split — which was apparently one of the best things to ever happen to her!

She said:
“I feel like so much of my character was built from my breakups. My last breakup had really catapulted me into a very, very special place.”
Of course, she’s only had the one breakup in such a long time. She and Austin were together for almost a decade before they broke up in 2020.
But leaving that relationship only brought Vanessa to her true happiness. She beamed:
“It pushed me to the right person, which I’m so grateful for.”
Obviously she’s talking about new hubby Cole Tucker. She gushed about the MLB star:
“He is just the most supportive, real, understanding human being that I’ve ever met.”
Ooh, we know she’s just complimenting her husband, which is great, but… in this context, does anyone else think she’s jabbing at her ex a bit? After all, calling Cole “real” after shading Austin over his neverending Elvis accent and failure to credit her for helping him get his star-making role? Feels pretty pointed, no?
