We can’t say we’re too surprised to hear this!
Just yesterday, Uruguay’s striker Luis Suarez gave tons of Twihards a reason to tune into the World Cup after he did his best Edward Cullen impression and BIT opposing player Giorgio Chiellini!
Unfortunately, the refs missed his mid-game snack when it happened, meaning he didn’t receive any sort of punishment at the time! But thanks to the magic of instant replay, officials were able to capture the whole thing on film and it sounds like a nice hot plate of justice is about to be served!
FIFA officials have confirmed that they will be having disciplinary proceedings later today to figure out an appropriate punishment for the so-called “Cannibal of Ajax,” and both he and his team have until 5 p.m. today to present any sort of evidence they think could help his cause!
Honestly, we’re not quite sure there’s any evidence out there that can excuse one player biting another in the middle of a game, and it probably doesn’t help his cause that he’s done this multiple times before!
It’s not 100% clear how hard FIFA will come down on Luis, but some seem to think there’s a good chance he’ll be banned from the remainder of the tournament! However, if he IS allowed to play again, might we suggest giving him one of those spiffy masks Hannibal Lecter wore?? LOLz!
