Zac Efron recently dropped out of the upcoming Footloose remake. Apparently, he’s tired of the whole musical scene and wants to do some serious acting.
Well it seems like he’s decided on his next project!
According to Variety, Zacquisha might be teaming up again with Burr Steers, who directed his latest flick, 17 Again.
The idea is for Efron to star in an adaptation of the book The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.
The novel was written by Ben Sherwood, a former Good Morning America exec producer, and centers around “a caretaker at a cemetery who manages to have weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels was his fault.”
Interesting.
The deal is still said to be in negotiations, but considering it’s not a musical, Zac might be willing to take it on.
Let’s hope he picks the right movie to further along his career.
